Album Cover Analysis

Colourful= unconventional for the ‘metal’ genre as metal is seen to be dark, therefore black is often associated with this genre of music not colourful clothing.

Focus= the main focus is on the singer of the band as the light is highlighting him and his clothes have the most eye-catching contrast. The main singer is presented as Jesus. This is conventional for pop as many pop artists sell their music by using their body.

Costume= scarcely dressed women common in ‘metal’ music as it’s about rebelling and is also conventional is pop. Thus contrasting with the religious scene.

Typography= the title of the band in a metal texture which refers to the band’s name ‘steel panther’.

Location/Setting= this scene resembling the last supper before Jesus’ death is unconventional for the ‘metal’ genre as it is mostly about rebelling against society and doing sinful acts.
